Another fantastic dinner at the Hall, filled with much laughter and congratulations. We were excited to welcome three new Freeman into the Company; Michael Voigt MI, Harry Mulligan and Stephen Hedley as well as three new Liverymen, Andrew Oxley MI, Edward Johnson and Adam Hersey.
The Hall was filled with rumbles of laughter when Alderman Dr Sir Andrew Parmley, the Master of the Vintners’Company, entertained us with stories and amusing anecdotes relating to his time in the City and his 37 years as church organist at St James Garlichythe.
Herbert produced another outstanding menu: rolled lemon sole in a butter sauce, roasted pigeon breast with seasonal veg and a glorious raspberry and rhubarb macaron. I should mention that the wine was also spectacular – so good in fact, that we managed to drink the house dry (well, we are Innholders).
It was a thoroughly enjoyable evening in all, full of good conversation and lots of laughter. Hear! Hear!
